Dive in and discover the dynamics and beauty of the sanctuary “A National Treasure, a Local Jewel” is a traveling exhibition that features vibrant images of Cordell Bank’s invertebrates, fishes, seabirds, marine mammals, and beautiful underwater reef taken by skilled divers and researchers.

Ocean Film Festival at Arena Theater

Join us for a day of ocean films for the whole family. In the afternoon there will be a family matinee film screening session followed by children's activities. There are afternoon and evening sessions featuring a wide variety of ocean films highlighting toics of CA's fishing families, threats to marine life survival and ocean's health, such as noise, marine debris, disappearing fish populations, harmful toxins that impact fisheries and wildlife disturbance. Earth Day/Friday Nights at the Oakland Museum of California

The Earth is Blue, so we’ll be celebrating Earth Day with the Oakland Museum of California with their Friday Nights event, where the museum stays open till 9 pm and offers ½ price admission. There will be plenty of ocean activities to enjoy as we reconnect and recommit to planet Earth’s life giving properties. Ocean films from the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival will be screening for a mini ocean film fest, an albatross bolus dissection in the Natural Sciences Gallery and a kids activity highlighting the multicolor richness of Cordell Bank itself.

Día Del Niño-Day of the Child
Where:-Coleman Beach, Sonoma Coast When:-10am-4pm Join Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary with the Stewards of Coast and Redwoods at Campbell Cove/CA State Parks near Bodega Head on Día Del Niño . Discover the Sonoma coast and ocean with a selection of hands on activities, scheduled walks and talks and wildlife observation. Look at live plankton through a microscope, create your own “block print” to take home, do a scavenger hunt and learn from knowledgeable coastal naturalists. Naturalist led activities begin at 10:00 am, 11:45 am, and 2:00 pm Hands-on activities ongoing at the Marine Van “The Steward Ship” from 10am-4pm This family event is held in collaboration with the Sonoma Environmental Education Collaborative. Cordell Bank will be celebrating Get Into Your Sanctuary Day with a family campfire program at Doran Beach, Bodega Bay. Join us for campfire songs, stories and games all focused on our incredible ocean and coastal environment. 
Note: Doran Beach is a Sonoma County Regional Park and requires a $7 parking fee; campfire program is free.
