Update of H.R. 1187, the Gulf of the Farallones and Cordell Bank National Marine
Sanctuary Boundary Modification and Protection Act, co-authored by Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey: On
October 24, 2007 there was a hearing in Washington, D.C. before the House Committee on Natural
Resources, Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans on H.R.1187. In the written statement that
John H. Dunnigan, Assistant Administrator of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) provided at the hearing it is clear that the Cordell Bank Sanctuary Advisory Council's
resolution to adjust the proposed boundary of the Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary to the west to
include all of Bodega Canyon was heard and adopted by NOAA. This demonstrates the important role that
our Advisory Council plays protecting sensitive habitats and marine life within Cordell Bank National
Marine Sanctuary. Cordell Bank Sanctuary Advisory Council List
